Press Briefing

Spokesperson and Deputy Minister for Public Affairs Park Il

February 10, 2026  14:30  KST

Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun and Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, together with Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aukje de Vries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will hold the first Korea-Netherlands 2+2 Foreign and Industry High-Level Dialogue on Wednesday, February 11, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul.

The event will mark the first meeting between the foreign and industry ministers of the two countries and the second of its kind to be launched by the Korean government after its 2+2 High-level Economic Security Dialogue with Canada.

Korea and the Netherlands, which hold significant positions in the global supply chain for semiconductors, will mainly cover the global economic security landscape and ways to work together on key issues related to supply chains.

On the heels of the meeting, Foreign Minister Cho will have a working luncheon with his Dutch counterpart van Weel to discuss the situations on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

Moving on, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Yoonjoo will hold the sixth Korea-India Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue with Secretary (East) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Periasamy Kumaran in Seoul on Friday, February 13.

Korea and India will use the Dialogue, which will come three years after the previous one, as an opportunity to further strengthen their “Special Strategic Partnership,” which has continued to deepen through the two summits and the two foreign ministers’ meetings since the inauguration of the new Korean government.

At the upcoming event, the Vice Minister and the Secretary will discuss in depth ways to step up cooperation in a wide range of areas, including economy, security, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

(A question-and-answer session followed.)
